WATCH: Awkward entrances for Ben Carson, Donald Trump at latest GOP debate

Republican presidential candidates Ben Carson and Donald Trump botched their entrance to the GOP debate on Saturday night. Neither could hear their names being called, so they stood offstage while other candidates passed by them. – Feb 7, 2016

United States presidential hopefuls Ben Carson and Donald Trump were on the same side at the Republican Debate on Feb. 6. The same side of the curtain, that is.

Both candidates stood awkwardly offstage as the rest of the debaters walked on confidently.

Neither appeared to have heard their name called, though Carson was called second and Trump was called fourth.

As the two waited in the wings, the announcers had to repeat their names (in Trump’s case, multiple times) before they eventually came out to thunderous applause.

The debate, which is the last one before Tuesday’s primary in New Hampshire, saw many candidates attack Marco Rubio, whose star has been rising lately.

On the same night, Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders joined his impersonator, Larry David, on Saturday Night Live.
