A photo of an act of kindness on Vancouver’s SkyTrain recently has gone viral on Facebook.
Ehab Taha posted the photo on his Facebook page on Feb. 2, saying he had seen “the most incredible display of humanity”.
The photo shows a man sitting on the floor of the train, and a woman beside him, looking over and holding his hand.
Taha said in his post that the man, who may have been suffering from mental health issues, was being “aggressive” on the train and was shouting and cursing.
He said the woman, who is 70 years old, simply reached out her hand and gripped the man’s, until he calmed down and sat down “with eventual tears in his eyes.”
The man and the woman have not been identified, but Taha said he spoke to the woman after the incident and she told him: “I’m a mother and he needed someone to touch.”
In his post, Taha shared this life lesson, saying “don’t fear or judge the stranger on the bus: life does not provide equal welfare for all its residents.”
