Halifax police look for driver whose vehicle hit teen girl and didn’t stop

Halifax police are looking for help in identifying a driver involved in a hit-and-run on Thursday morning.

A vehicle travelling northbound on George Dauphinee Avenue struck a 14-year-old girl who was crossing the street as she walked along Bayers Road around 8:30 a.m.

The vehicle didn’t stop and the girl continued on her way to school. She was later taken to hospital.

There is no description of the driver, but police say the passenger is described as a black male in his early 20s. The vehicle is described as a light-blue four-door car.

Anybody with information is asked to contact Halifax Regional Police or Crime Stoppers.
