Delta police officer charged with two counts of forgery

A Delta police officer is facing two charges of forgery in relation to prescription pain medication.

The allegations against Delta Cst. Geoffery Young were investigated by the Surrey RCMP and were found to have happened on Nov. 8 while he was doing administrative duties after a return from medical leave.

Young, who is 38 years old and a member of the Delta Police force since 2009, will remain on paid medical leave as the investigation continues.

His next court appearance is on Feb. 5 in Surrey Provincial Court.
