Police have laid charges against a Saskatchewan teen in a 13 month old murder investigation in Edmonton.
The body of John Stanley Kwiatkowski was discovered by his wife on April 14, 2011 when she returned home from working a night shift.
Kwiatkowski, 29, was in his Rundle Heights home with his young daughter, when he was brutally attacked and murdered.
On Thursday, police charged a Saskatchewan man with 2nd degree murder. He was a youth at the time and under the Youth Criminal Justice Act can’t be named.
Police say they believe Kwiatkowski’s murder was a random attack, adding the victim and suspect didn’t know each other nor was organized crime at play.
The accused is currently serving time in a Saskatchewan correctional facility for an unrelated conviction.
