WINNIPEG – If you’ve ever wanted to try playing the electric guitar, you can get the help of a professional Thursday night.
Award-winning Russian guitarist Igor Kornilov will showcase his handmade guitars at the Garrick Hotel in Winnipeg starting at 7:00 p.m.
He will then perform with his wife Larisa Segida and help anyone who wants to try out the guitars.
“We have a band it’s called MW for Moscow Winnipeg because we were born in Moscow but as a band we were born in Winnipeg,” Segida said.
Kornilov has made more than 300 instruments since moving to Winnipeg back in 2003.
The event Thursday aims to provide a hands on musical experience for Manitobans.
The couple also runs a workshop at Accord Music Instruments on Pembina Highway where you can sample the guitars.
