A 40 year-old Grande Prairie woman was killed in a crash that happened south of the city on Sunday.
She was going south on highway 40 when she reportedly crossed the line of center into the path of a northbound semi truck and trailer. The male driver of the truck was not injured in the collision.
All north and southbound traffic in that area had to be re-routed earlier in the day as a collision analyst help with the investigation at the scene.
This is the second fatal collision in the Grande Prairie area since Saturday, when a 68 year old Grande Prairie man died in a collision near Bezanson.
Police are reminding motorists to take every effort to drive safely this long weekend.
