Paramedic charged in ambulance crash that sent two to hospital in Innisfil

INNISFIL, Ont. – A paramedic is facing a charge under the Highway Traffic Act after allegedly driving an ambulance into another car.

South Simcoe Police say the incident took place yesterday morning in Innisfil, Ont.

They allege that the ambulance collided with the car, sending both vehicles into utility poles.

Police say both people inside the car were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The ambulance was not carrying any patients at the time, and police did not report any injuries among the two paramedics and the nurse on board.

The paramedic driving the ambulance is charged with failing to stop for a red light.
