Charges laid against 3 Toronto men in connection to Mississauga break-in: Police

Toronto — Three Toronto men have been charged and at least one suspect remains at large after an alleged break-and-enter at a Mississauga home that saw police shoot at and chase a fleeing pickup truck.

Peel region police said several suspects broke into the house on Dursley Crescent in a residential area of Mississauga around 11:20 a.m. Monday.

Three men were taken into custody at the scene, but investigators said at least one other suspect allegedly got in a black newer-model Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Responding officers fired an undisclosed number of gunshots at the truck, damaging its windows, but failed to stop it. Police said one of the detained suspects was sent to hospital for assessment for minor injuries.

On Tuesday, charges were announced against three Toronto men in connection with the incident.

Nineteen-year-old Kevin Nguyen, 20-year-old Ahmed Shkais and 19-year-old William Vu each face charges of break-and-enter with intent to commit an indictable offence and breach of probation.

They were due in a Brampton court Tuesday.

Police continue to look for the suspect or suspects who allegedly fled.
