TORONTO — A 47-year-old Toronto man has been charged in connection with a sexual assault investigation in which police said a woman was forcibly confined and sexually assaulted.
Police responded to a sexual assault call in the Gerrard Street East and Church Street area at an undisclosed time on Sunday.

Investigators said a 22-year-old woman was allegedly forcibly confined and sexually assaulted by a man who was known to her.
Biao Zhou, 47, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with forcible confinement and sexual assault.

He appeared in Toronto in court on Monday and police believe there may be other alleged victims.
