Man and woman facing drug charges after seizure of cocaine, marijuana

Two people are facing charges today after a drug search that happened Tuesday in Halifax.

Officers searched an apartment on Evans Avenue at 5:30 a.m., seizing large quantities of cocaine, marijuana, unknown substances and capsules believed to be controlled drugs, digital scales and cell phones.

Five people were in the apartment at the time of the search and were arrested, three were later released.

An 18-year-old woman from Timberlea and a 28-year-old man from Halifax have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and possession of marijuana.

Both people are scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on Tuesday.
