Suspect wanted in Moose Jaw police chase arrested in Radville, Sask.

REGINA – Moose Jaw police have arrested a man in connection to a dangerous driving incident several months ago that resulted in a police chase.

On November 7, RCMP and the Moose Jaw Police Service attempted to stop a speeding vehicle en route from Medicine Hat, Alberta to Moose Jaw. The suspect drove the wrong way on Highway #1, jumped the ditch and also drove the wrong way on Main St – travelling at 160 kilometers per hour at times.

Later that day, the vehicle was found disabled on the railway tracks in the area of 16th Avenue SW. The canine unit was brought in to track the suspect but was unable to do so.

According to officers, a man was arrested on December 30th in connection with the incident. He was located in Radville, Saskatchewan and taken back to Moose Jaw for his court appearance.

28-year-old Alex Wagar from Calgary, Alberta has been charged with dangerous driving, flight from police, and possession of stolen property.

Wagar made his first court appearance Thursday morning and remains in custody until his next appearance on January 6th.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and further charges could be laid.
