Cartoon Network/Adult Swim channel to launch in Canada on July 4

TORONTO – The digital specialty channel Cartoon Network and Adult Swim will launch in Canada on July 4.

Teletoon Canada, which partnered with Turner Broadcasting System to launch the station, unveiled the date on Thursday.

To whet the appetites of viewers, Teletoon will begin broadcasting a weekly Cartoon Network programming block, starting this Saturday.

Meanwhile, on June 1, Teletoon at Night will air a weekly block of fan-favourite Adult Swim shows.

And beginning June 2, Teletoon Retro will broadcast a block of classic Cartoon Network shows every week.

Cartoon Network, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, shares channel space with Adult Swim.

In Canada, Cartoon Network programming will air between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. ET/PT, followed by Adult Swim shows, which are geared toward young adults.
