TORONTO — The York Regional Police homicide unit is investigating after what police are calling a suspicious death at a home in Richmond Hill.
Police responded to a call of an injured person in the Bayview Avenue and Highway 7 area just after 12 p.m. on Friday.
Officers discovered a body inside the home and an individual who was present at the time of the incident was arrested in connection with the death.
Police said that although the investigation is in its early stages, it is believed the person in custody and the deceased knew each other and it was not a “random act.”
Details on the age and gender of the deceased are not being released until next of kin has been notified.
Anyone with information is asked to contact York Regional Police homicide unit or Crime Stoppers.
