Cat food donations have dried up and that means some cats in Surrey and White Rock are going hungry.

The Manager of the Surrey Community Cat Coalition, Lubna Ekramoddoullah, says over the weekend she found out their food bank partners only have dog food and nothing for cats.

The Surrey Urban Mission and Sources South Surrey distribute the donations.

Ekramoddoullah says they are hoping people will think of hungry cats when they are out doing holiday shopping.

She adds there are a lot of low-income and homeless people who have feline companions.

The cat food bank was only started this summer and Ekremoddoullah does not yet know how many people depend on the donations to feed their furry friends.

Locations to donate dry and canned cat food can be found at surreycats.ca.
