Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be in Quebec City Friday to meet with Premier Philippe Couillard ahead of the arrival of thousands of Syrian refugees in the province.

Giving gifts at WIPCR

Quebec assisted-dying law
Quebec Health Minister Gaétan Barrette said the province’s controversial legislation on assisted dying will become law Thursday.
He made the announcement after Quebec’s top tribunal gave the province the green light to appeal a lower-court ruling that granted an injunction which blocks the bill from taking effect.

Plastic bag ban
The City of Montreal’s environmental commission is recommending a ban on plastic bags.

MUHC parking problems
“We estimate that 85 per cent of our patient population will benefit from these new measures.”
The hospital introduced a series of new parking rates for its underground lots on the MUHC sites, devising a new seven-day flexipass for $100.
