Red Deer RCMP are looking for witnesses after the sexual assault of a 62-year-old woman in the Normandeau neighbourhood on Nov. 30.
The RCMP said the woman was walking on a path in the area of Nyberg Avenue just after 10:30 p.m. when a man approached her and pulled her into a green space. Police said he threatened and sexually assaulted her, then fled the scene.
The victim then went to a nearby home for help before being treated at hospital. She’s since been released.
The suspect is described as Caucasian, between 20 and 35 years old with a slim build. Police said he was wearing dark pants, a black coat and a black hat.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area around that time to call Red Deer RCMP immediately at 403-343-5575 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
