The first wave of Syrian refugees resettling in Canada is beginning to arrive and thousands more are preparing to make the journey.
In a video collage produced by World Vision Canada, children across Canada sent a warm welcome message to all the incoming refugees.
“Welcome to Canada!” some said while waving the Canadian flag.

Variations of the greeting included different languages, words of empathy, and invitations to be friends.
“I want to be your best friend!” says one.
Others outline some of the best parts of living in Canada, such as enjoying all four seasons, being able to go to school safely, and of course, Timbits.

“We love Timbits! We love Tim Hortons! We love all of you!”
The first plane with 150 of the government-sponsored refugees is scheduled to arrive in Toronto Thursday night.
