TORONTO — Police say a man has died from his injuries after a serious head-on collision between a dump truck and a car near Newmarket, Ont.
York Regional Police responded to the collision in the Davis Drive and Kennedy Road area between the borders of East Gwillimbury and Whitchurch-Stouffville Monday afternoon. Roads in the area have been closed as the investigation is ongoing.
The dump truck collided with the car and flipped before the driver escaped when it briefly caught fire. The driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

An Ornge air ambulance was dispatched but did not end up transporting any patients.
The unnamed driver of the car involved in the collision was pronounced dead after being transported to hospital.
