The Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame is celebrating a special and spooky birthday Saturday.

The Hall of Fame is turning 49 years old.

The public was invited to attend a Halloween-themed party that featured a scavenger hunt, costume contest and a special birthday cake.

The organization says going into its 50th year, it wants to celebrate all of Saskatchewan’s sports history.

“I think it’s just so diverse. When you think of Saskatchewan obviously people think of the Riders and they think of hockey. But we’re actually showcasing 53 sports here so there’s a ton of talent that some people don’t even know that we have here. So we want to take some time to showcase that,” said Autumn McDowell, the Hall of Fame’s communications coordinator.

In attendance for the celebration was 2015 Hall of Fame inductee Dick White, who was one of the judges for the costume contest.
