MONTREAL – A baby girl is in critical condition with broken bones and bruises which could be the result of being shaken.
The two-month old babu was transferred to Sainte-Justine Hospital in Montreal after a 21-year-old woman brought the baby to the Saint-Eustache hospital on Sunday evening.
Doctors suspected that the baby had been shaken and police were contacted.
Sûreté du Québec officers and youth protection officials will be interviewing the mother and the 33-year-old father in order to determine how the baby could have been injured.
Police have confirmed that the baby’s condition has stablized, although doctors are still concerned for her life.
No charges have been laid.
