WATCH: Orca flings seal several metres in air off coast of B.C.

A B.C. filmmaker captured a remarkable sight off the coast of Victoria this week.

Mike Walker of Roll.Focus. Productions filmed a male transient orca flinging a harbour seal several metres into the air. This is a typical way orcas kill seals before eating them.

The transient orca is part of a pod known as T69s.

Walker was filming the scene from a safe distance under the guidance of Transport Canada and the Department of Fisheries and Oceans.
