WATCH: Calgary athletes use Taylor Swift music to remind women to check for breast cancer

SAIT Trojans student-athletes have teamed up with the mother of a Canadian woman who lost her life to breast cancer at just 24 years old to remind women to check themselves for breast cancer.

Team Shan” was named after Shanna (Shan) Larsen, and established as a national organization by her mom, Lorna, to raise awareness about breast cancer in young women.

The group worked with all of SAIT’s teams and athletes to produce a video called Check Yourself, in which they lip-synch and dance to a revised version of Taylor Swifts Shake it Off. The song was created by a breast cancer survivor in the United Kingdom, who gave permission to SAIT to be the first in Canada to use the song in a homemade video.
