Goaltender Carey Price not only notched a shutout in Montreal’s 3-0 win over the New York Rangers, but also got revenge against Rangers forward Chris Kreider Thursday night.
Price and Canadiens fans have not forgotten the infamous play in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final two seasons ago when the Rangers left-winger wiped out Montreal’s MVP with a questionable skate-first slide.
Price suffered a lower-body injury in the collision and missed the rest of the season.

In the third period of Thursday’s evening match-up, Price saw Kreider begin to circle around the Canadiens net and levelled the forward with an impressive body check.
Price, who won last season’s Vezina Trophy, even took a moment to stand over Kreider admiring his handiwork.
Montreal has now extended its season-opening win streak to five games, setting a new franchise record.
