Former Regina teacher, Corey Matthews, was in court today for a preliminary hearing on new sexual
He is accused of assaulting a male student in 2006 and 2007. The alleged victim was 15 and 16 at the time.
The court ruled he will stand trial for sexual assault, and sexual exploitation while in a position of trust or authority. There is no set court date at this time.
Last month the court cancelled a jury trial for Matthews, and stayed six separate charges of sexual assault because there was no reasonable likelihood of conviction.
