Police and the Integrated Major Crime Unit are investigating the suspicious death of an 18-month-old girl in Victoria.
A patrol was called to a home in the 1200-block of Vista Heights just before 6 a.m. this morning to check on the well-being of the people inside.

It was at that time when police discovered an 18-month-old girl and attempted to resuscitate her. The child died despite the police’s efforts and the girl’s mother was taken to hospital.
The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit and Victoria Police are not releasing many details except to say the investigation is ongoing and they will not be releasing the name of the little girl.
