Saskatchewan RCMP are on the lookout for a suspect involved in a reported shooting in North Battleford Friday morning. At about 8:35 a.m., RCMP received a call about a suspicious person in the area of Douglas Avenue and St. Laurent Drive.

Shortly after, multiple shots were fired in the area, according to authorities. No one was injured but property was damaged as result of the discharge of the firearm.

The suspect was seen fleeing the area with the firearm still in hand.  Officers quickly responded in an attempt to locate the suspect but were unsuccessful.

Battleford RCMP said a nearby high school undertook a “secure and hold” action as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of all students and staff.

Members of the forensic identification section attended the scene to gather evidence. The shooting remains under investigation.
