The Toronto International Film Festival kicks off this week and Southpaw actor Jake Gyllenhaal stars in this year’s first featured film, titled Demolition.

In the film, the 34-year-old plays Davis, an investment banker who has to rebuild his life after his wife dies in a fatal car accident.

A letter written to a vending machine company after he couldn’t retrieve his snack, 10 minutes after learning of his wife’s death, opens the film and brings him into the life of a customer service representative (Naomi Watts) who takes an interest in his story.
