Thousands affected by power outage, most in Guelph area of southern Ontario

KITCHENER, Ont. – The power is back on for thousands of people in southwestern Ontario who had been affected by a massive outage.

A Hydro One spokeswoman says the power was back on as of late Wednesday afternoon, just in time for the dinner hour.

Tiziana Baccega Rosa says the afternoon outage affected just over 10,000 people – mostly in the Guelph area.

She says the cause of the outage is still under investigation.
