Summary: Conservative MP Gord Brown seeks a fifth term in the former riding of Leeds-Grenville, which has expanded its name but has the same electoral boundaries from 2011.
Boundaries: A rural riding along the banks of the St. Lawrence River between Kingston and Highway 416, Leeds-Grenville contains a number of small cities, including Kemptville, Brockville, Gananoque and Prescott.
Last Election: Brown defeated NDP candidate Matthew Gabriel by 42.5 per cent, his largest margin of victory in his four wins.
History: Before Brown, the riding was held by Liberal MP Joe Jordan from 1997 to 2004, and his father Jim Jordan from 1988 to 1993. But aside from that, the area has solely elected PC/Conservative candidates since the Trudeau era, generally by large margins.
Demographics: 35.5 per cent of people cited no religious affiliation in the 2011 National Household Survey, the highest number in Ontario outside the GTA.
