Federal Election 2015: Rimouski-Neigette-Témiscouata-Les Basques riding results

Summary: NDP MP Guy Caron broke the Bloc Québécois hold on this riding with his victory in 2011. He is running again.

Boundaries: This riding runs along the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, north of New Brunswick. It includes all of the communities in its name. Its boundaries have not changed for this election.

Last Election: The NDP’s Caron won with 43.0 per cent of the vote. The BQ incumbent, Claude Guimond, earned 30.8 per cent.

History: This riding was held by the Bloc Québécois from its creation in 2004 until the NDP win in 2011.

Demographics: The riding is one of the most francophone in the province, with 98.6 per cent of residents speaking French as their first language.
