Federal Election 2015: Fleetwood-Port Kells riding results

Summary: One of five Surrey’s five ridings, Fleetwood-Port Kells has been represented by Conservative MP Nina Grewal since 2004. She is seeking re-election.

Boundaries: A suburban seat to the east of Surrey’s city centre, this riding includes the neighbourhoods of Fleetwood, Guildford and Port Kells.

Last Election: Nina Grewal was re-elected to a fourth term, defeating NDP candidate Nao Fernando by 14.7 per cent.

History: The area has elected Reform/Alliance/Conservative MPs since eastern Surrey was given its own seat beginning in the 1997 election. Provincially, the area has generally supported the provincial Liberal party by narrow margins.

Demographics: A rapidly growing region for young families, households here have an average of 1.3 children according to the National Household Survey, the highest number in the province.
