Sask. man brings home snout of endangered species

REGINA – Officers at Canada Border Security Agency came across an unusual find when they seized a tooth-studded snout from a sawfish at the Regina airport.

The Saskatchewan man carrying the bone was on his way home from Australia.

Freshwater sawfish is an endangered species under international trade acts. Sawfish can grow to nearly 20-feet in length and the nose or snout can have between 14 and 23 teeth.
