Police say a five-year-old boy noticed the child unconscious at the bottom of the pool on Thursday night.

Several families from a church were in the backyard of the residence but had been distracted after another child slipped on the pool deck.

An older child brought the three-year-old to the surface and police say an off-duty police officer who was at the gathering began performing CPR.

Police say he was successful in reviving the girl and she was taken to hospital, where she was in stable condition.
