BEAR ISLAND, N.B. – Kevin Boudreau, the 41-year-old who was reported missing last Saturday, has been found alive after five days in the woods.

In fact, according to search and rescue volunteers, it was Boudreau who found them.

“We were on an old trail, the old skidoo trail and we just stopped to have a coffee and we were just sitting there talking,” said volunteer Laurie Prosser. “And Kevin walked out of the woods just like, 100 yards from us.”

Prosser said Boudreau was in good shape, just really thirsty and had a lot of bug bites.

“He said, ‘I’m some glad to see your fellas,'” Prosser said. “I said, ‘You’re not as glad to see us as we are to see you!'”

The snowmobile trail was near Scotch Lake Road. Volunteers and officials have been extensively searching for the man since Saturday.

“I thought it was just a dream or something, but looked again and it was him,” said volunteer James Morrison.

Boudreau’s sister told Global News Boudreau is now in hospital but is in good spirits.

“For the time being we just want to be with Kevin,” said Amanda Morgan.
