TORONTO – Do you need a couch for the living room? How about a bean bag chair for the den?
If so, you may be in luck because furniture and appliances used by athletes during the Toronto Pan Am and Parapan Am Games are going on the auction block for a discounted price.
Those interested can go online and bid for a number of items ranging from three seater sofas, night stands, clothes drying racks, to washers and dryers.
Pan Am officials say the proceeds from the sales will be used to cover the cost of the Games.

“Any surplus once all the activities of dissolution have been completed would go back to the Province,” said Kevin Dove, Pan Am Games Senior Manager of Media Relations.
In addition to what appears on the website now, officials say more items will be added as venues are decommissioned and when the athlete’s village is no longer in operation.
The pieces of “memorabilia” can only be made on the GovDeals website and buyers can pick up their purchases between Aug. 19 to Sept. 10.
People are also required to schedule their pick-up times and provide their own mode of transportation.
