Manslaughter charge laid in South Indian Lake homicide

WINNIPEG — Vernon Robert Baker, 18, has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of a South Indian Lake man.

The 28-year-old man was reported missing on Wednesday and found dead near South Indian Lake on Thursday, Leaf Rapids RCMP said in a news release.

RCMP Winnipeg, Thompson Major Crime Units and Forensic Identification Services are assisting in the continuing investigation.
