Man caught for calling in fake bomb threat; Winnipeg Police

WINNIPEG — A 64-year-old Winnipeg man is in police custody after making a bomb threat from a pay phone.

Winnipeg Police received a call Friday morning from a pay phone near William Avenue and Main Street. The man told police that a downtown business was going to be “bombed out” on the weekend, then immediately hung up.

Police went to the area, talked to witnesses, and found the man nearby.

Security at the business mentioned in the threat searched their building but didn’t find anything suspicious.

The 64-year-old has been charged with Public Mischief for his alleged involvement.
