A series of newly released photographs taken on Sept. 11, 2001 shows the reaction of the most senior members of the Bush administration as the terrorist attacks unfolded.
The photos were released under a Freedom of Information Act request by a documentary maker who covered the Bush administration and produced films such as Bush’s War and Cheney’s Law.
The pictures show the reactions of U.S. President George Bush, Vice-President Dick Cheney, First Lady Laura Bush, Cheney’s wife Lynne, as well as high level staffers such as National Security Adviser Condoleeza Rice and Secretary of State Colin Powell.
The pictures were taken by Cheney’s staff photographer. The complete set have been posted on Flickr.
