It’s a happy ending for the family who lost their camera near Campbell Lake

RCMP found lost camera in Campbell Lake. Nanaimo RCMP handout

The owners of a Nikon camera have been identified!

The camera was found near the Campbell River area and the family is thrilled that hundreds of their pictures are being returned to them.

Rolf and Regina Sidler, along with their two children, ages 4 and 2, believed the camera was lost in early June as they traveled along a trail near Campbell Lake. When they returned to their home in Klosters Switzerland, they realized they didn’t have their camera.

A news release and several pictures pulled from the camera were distributed yesterday to media outlets by the Nanaimo RCMP. Luckily Sider’s friend, who is living in Port Moody, saw herself on the six o’clock news.  Immediately she sent them an email to let them know.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

“Needless to say, they were ecstatic and are looking forward to having the camera and pictures returned”, said Constable Gary O’Brien of the Nanaimo RCMP.

Arrangements are currently being made to have the Sidler’s ‘Nikon Coolpix’ camera returned to them.

It’s a happy ending after all.
