Timeline: The Brian Sinclair wrongful death case

It’s been almost four years since Brian Sinclair died in the Health Sciences Emergency Room. Since then, the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority has said his death was preventable. Now his family is looking to sue the province and the RHA.

September 21, 2008: Brian Sinclair dies in the Health Sciences Emergency Room after waiting for treatment of a bladder infection.

September 2009: St. Boniface hospital opens a revamped Emergency Room after ER review in response to Sinclair death 

 

October 2010: Winnipeg police launch formal investigation into death of Brian Sinclair

October 2011: Manitoba officials send Sinclair case to Saskatchewan for further review 

 

October 2011: Family of Brian Sinclair blames provincial government for his death
