Two separate but similar robberies of elderly females in the central Lonsdale area have prompted North Vancouver RCMP to issue a warning to the general public.
“In both instances, elderly females were victimized by a male who won their confidence and accessed their residences under the pretense of either being sick and needing assistance or in order to perform work in their residence,” said North Vancouver RCMP Cpl. Geoff Harder in a statement.
“However, in both cases the females had money taken from them and in one case the woman was assaulted, though thankfully not injured.”
The suspect is described as a slim, clean shaven Caucasian man in his 50’s, who walks with a cane. Both robberies happened near Lonsdale and 16th Street.
Anyone with information that may help is asked to call North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311.
