Woman killed in collision near Grande Prairie

EDMONTON – One woman is dead following a two-vehicle collision in northern Alberta Saturday night.

Grande Prairie RCMP were called to the collision around 6 p.m. It happened at the intersection of Secondary Highway 672 and Range Road 62, just southwest of Sexsmith, AB.

A female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS crews.

Officers have not released any details about the crash, but say alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

The woman’s identity has not been released.

*Editor’s note: This story originally stated the woman who was killed was the driver. However, RCMP said Monday morning its investigation determined the woman was the passenger.
