Canadian comedian Tommy Chong reveals cancer diagnosis

TORONTO — Canadian comedian Tommy Chong has revealed Tuesday he is battling cancer again.

“I got diagnosed with rectal cancer,” the 77-year-old Alberta native told Us Weekly. “I’m in treatment now.”

Part of the treatment, Chong explained, is herbal.

“I’m using cannabis like crazy now, more so than ever before,” said the star of Cheech & Chong movies like Up in Smoke and Still Smokin.

“Either I get healed or I don’t, but either way, I’m going to make sure I get a little edge off or put up.”

In 2013, Chong wrote about he beat prostate cancer with a treatment regimen that included hemp oil.

“I kicked cancer’s a**!,” he insisted. “The magic plant does cure cancer with the right diet and supplements. I feel the best I’ve felt in years.”

Last September, Chong was healthy enough to compete on Dancing with the Stars.
