TORONTO — A man has died after a car jumped a curb and hit multiple pedestrians on a Yonge Street sidewalk Thursday afternoon.
As many as six people were injured in the incident near the intersection of Yonge Street and Park Home Avenue around 1:30 p.m.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital along with three pedestrians who were struck.
After the car went over the curb it then proceeded over a barrier, coming to a stop in a parking lot where it hit two other vehicles.
The car also apparently hit a cab immediately before turning left onto Yonge Street where it mounted the curb.
Yonge St. was closed from Elmwood Avenue to Empress Avenue while officials investigated.
