Michael Bublé, Carly Rae Jepsen part of Songwriters Hall of Fame induction gala

TORONTO — Canadians Michael Bublé and Carly Rae Jepsen are among the singers who will take part in the Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Dinner on Thursday night in New York.

The list of performers and presenters includes Tony Bennett, Ne-Yo, Richie Sambora, Zac Brown, Dr. John, Jennifer Nettles, Paul Williams, Benny Blanco, Ledisi, Mike O’Neill and Bernie Taupin.

This year’s inductees are Bobby Braddock, Willie Dixon, Robert Hunter and Jerry Garcia, Toby Keith, Cyndi Lauper and Linda Perry.

Lady Gaga will be presented with the inaugural Contemporary Icon Award; Van Morrison will receive the Johnny Mercer Award; Nate Ruess will be given the Hal David Starlight Award; and John LoFrumento will be honoured with the Visionary Leadership Award.

The classic “What A Wonderful World,” made famous by Louis Armstrong, will be recognized with the Towering Song Award.
