3 charged after van hits 2 police cruisers during chase near Halifax

HALIFAX – Three people are facing charges after two RCMP vehicles were damaged following a police chase last week.

On Thursday, police arrested the three suspects after a van being pursued by police spun out of control and collided with two cruisers in Lake Echo. Police had attempted to stop the van as part of an ongoing investigation.

Nobody was injured, but all three vehicles were damaged.

Stewart Brown, 23, is facing several charges including flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, breach of probation and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Tenisha Noel Brown, 24, faces charges including unauthorized possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a motor vehicle and breach of recognizance.

The third person, a 17-year-old male, faces eight charges including unauthorized possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a motor vehicle and breach of probation.

Stewart Brown and the youth appeared in court Friday and were remanded into custody.

Tenisha Brown was released from custody Thursday on conditions and will appear in court June 30.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
