Lawnmower man charged with animal cruelty after running over family of ducks

TORONTO – A Florida landscaper was charged with animal cruelty after allegedly running over a mother duck and her 11 ducklings on a riding lawnmower as homeowners watched in horror.

According to the Palm Beach Post, Jason Falbo, 24, was arrested Wednesday and charged after he mowed down the ducks on May 2, at the home of a family caring for them.

The family says the ducklings were a few days old.

According to the Post, Laura Gontchar watched in horror with her husband and 7-year-old son as Falbo ran over the family of ducks.

“Everything was flying in the air, the blade was so powerful,” Gontchar told the Post. “It was horrific.”

The homeowner claims the lawnmower man deliberately changed directions and headed directly for the birds. Gontchar said she ran outside screaming but couldn’t stop Falbo.
