REGINA – The Saskatchewan government has released a detailed action plan outlining the steps its taking in response to the inquest into the death of six-year-old Lee Bonneau.
The coroner’s inquest jury issued 19 recommendations mainly aimed at the social services ministry — including improving mental health supports and funding a facility for children under 12 who have complex needs.

The province says it has either already implemented or is working on all recommendations that apply to the government.
Bonneau was killed on a reserve in 2013 by a 10-year-old boy with behavioural issues.
A report later found that the older child probably should not have been in the community unsupervised.
