EDMONTON – While the majority of Edmontonians woke up to bone dry streets Saturday morning, areas just south of the city were hit with a wallop of snow.
Areas like Ponoka, Millet and Leduc received plenty of accumulated snow on the ground overnight. One Global News viewer in Wetaskiwin measured upwards of 30 centimetres of heavy, wet snow in her backyard.
Snowfall warnings were in place for areas west and southeast of Edmonton Saturday morning. For up-to-date weather warnings, visit Environment Canada’s website.
There were light flurries in areas of Edmonton Saturday morning, although it didn’t stick to the ground. Upwards of five to 10 centimetres of snow could fall in areas in and around Edmonton Saturday.
